Peppermint Oil To Repel Mice? Yes. Here's how to use it.
Many people have a problem with mice trying to come in and make themselves at home when temperatures begin to drop. To discourage mice from entering your home, apply several drops of straight, undiluted peppermint oil to cotton balls and place them where you suspect the critters are entering your home. They do not like the smell and this simple solution will usually keep them from entering.
Peppermint oil is a mouse repellent, but not a mouse toxicant. While peppermint oil will repel mice until the effective odor dissipates, peppermint oil does not eliminate mice. This is because the rodents will likely return unless exclusion methods are used to block entry through holes, gaps and other openings.
How to Use?
Mice find the smell of peppermint overwhelming and confusing, so they stay away from the scent. You are supposed to use 100% peppermint oil and either dab it on cotton balls and place them around your home, or use a spray canister and combine two teaspoons of oil for every one cup of water and spray it around where you see the mice.
